OKDHS is working with a family that has an extraordinary need of support. The mother has a daughter that just had her 10th birthday yesterday. This young lady has had many obstacles and challenges to face in her young life. Her mother is working hard to put resources in place to help support her daughters needs. However, this child's needs are such that the mother has had a difficult time finding employment that swill be flexible enough to provide her the time to get this young child the care she requires. This mother has been struggling financially and has no family or support in the state. She has been facing challenges on her own and she is exhausted. She faced yet another challenge today when her electricity was shut off. Her child attends school virtually and needs electricity to do her schoolwork. This mother is only $100 short to get her service restored. We are asking the generous members of our community to carefully consider helping this mother restore power to her home. Mom moved herself and 2 kids into a house after leaving a bad relationship. This family has no furniture what's so ever. We are starting with beds. This is an in home supervision case so we are trying to avoid the kids coming into the foster care system. We are totally fine with piecemealing this request. Any help is very appreciated! We have an Arabic refugee client family in need of household cleaning supplies. The father of the family has a job but they are not yet able to cover all their expenses. A donation of dish soap, laundry detergent, shampoo and conditioner, toilet paper and Kleenex, and disinfectant chlorine for bathroom and clothes would be appreciated. Any kind or brand appreciated.

The children in this referral are staying with maternal grandmother due to their mother going into detox treatment. The children are in a safety plan with maternal grandmother. Maternal grandmother is unable to drive and uses Cimarron Transit to get from place to place. Minor child is 21 months old and has high medical needs. Minor child is to be fed through a feeding tube only on a consistent schedule and is taking a specific formula 6 times a day. Foster mom is in need with assistance in purchasing a 2 week supply for minor child as they are running out of formula for him. Foster mom has been actively working on getting the formula be prescribed by his doctor but is currently struggling with getting the prescription and supplies correctly. 4 and 6 year old boys have been living with their aunt in Tulsa since February. One of the boys are in school and needed uniforms in order to attend class. Parents are covering other expenses and cannot afford to reimburse mother's sister for purchasing uniforms to put their son in school. Thank you in advance for supporting this family.

Hi! Fantastic news! I have had the pleasure of working with a resilient 9 year old with a movie like past. She is originally from Louisiana and ended up in Oklahoma. She is finally released from OKDHS custody after lengthy court hearings where she has participated in and strongly advocated for herself to go home. Since being released from the judge, OKDHS is scheduled to take her HOME to Louisiana and to her mother that she hasn't seen in several years. However, our flight leaves on Thursday and luggage is not paid for. It would be highly appreciated if we could get some help with purchasing luggage to take all of her clothes and belongings with us in one trip OR help shipping what we cannot take on the plane. OKDHS would anticipate at least two large suitcases but there could be more.

The foster family has 3 teenagers that are in need of an after school outlet. One is wanting to start jiu-jitsu and a month is roughly 120 per kid. The foster family is in need of assistance so that they can help all the teens in their home get involved in something outside of school. The foster family is tight on funds as they have been taking kids to multiple appointments and school which has made money tight with gas and other expenses. This amount would cover a month of lessons.

A mother and father are eager to engage with their service providers. They have been consistently attending family times with their 1.5-year-old daughter and greatly enjoy their time with her. Family times are being moved to their home, but a bus pass for each parent would enable them to become more independent in their transportation to and from service providers. We have a mother who needs to complete a hair follicle test. The mother is wanting to reunify with her child, but needs to prove that she can pass a drug test.
